creating lounge pants from oversized tshirts that are on sale

when i went to kmart and found these t-shirts on sale for $1.50 each I knew I could make some baggy pants for Samuel to wear around the house. Its Autumn now and getting cooler, so some soft cotton knitted pants are a must.

So using some PJ pants as a base I created a pattern piece and went to work.

By the afternoon Samuel had a second pair of lounge pants - more to be made. These have a mickey mouse and goofy transfer on them that I got on sale at spotlight. The blue is a great colour but its a lot of blue!

quillo's for the little princesses in our lives

i have been enjoying making these quillo's - is it a quilt?, a pillow? can i use it as a rug ? something to snuggle up with on the couch ? well - you can use it for all these things. i was give two when Samuel was born. we used them on picnics, as a tummy time rug and they are currently in his huggies animal tents to make them more snuggly. i have made him his own which is on his bed (they fit a boori sized cot just right) using some ikea fabric.

here are some that i have made :

i have been playing with ruffles - this is my first attempt. needlesstosay - more photos to come!
